IGBP 20th Anniversary Symposium
'Earth System Science and Society'

In 2007, IGBP celebrated its 20 years of international, interdisciplinary global environmental change research and marked this milestone by hosting a high profile symposium in collaboration with the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on 17-18 September 2007. Distinguished scientists, policymakers and business representatives were invited to participate in the event which celebrated two decades of successful international research coordination and acknowledged the generous contributions by Sweden throughout this period. The symposium was also designed to encourage dialogue between the major stakeholders to address political and societal questions related to global environmental change.
