Integrated Land Ecosystem-Atmosphere Processes Study - iLEAPS
Interactions between the land and atmosphere underlie how we build our societal infrastructure, and play a vital role in the functioning of the Earth System. iLEAPS deals with the transport and transformation processes at the land-atmosphere interface, looking at interactions and feedbacks from local to global scales, and from the past to the future. iLEAPS examines how the land-atmosphere interface functioned prior to the industrial revolution, how human activities are affecting this interface, and the extent to which terrestrial vegetation determines the physical and chemical environment on different scales. iLEAPS was established in 2004 as the new Land-Atmosphere project within the framework of IGBP-II.
iLEAPS Goal
The overall goal of iLEAPS is to enhance the understanding of how interacting physical, chemical and biological processes transport and transform energy and matter through the land-atmosphere interface.Contact:
