IGBP Projects

The research of IGBP is carried out by a suite of projects around the major compartments of the Earth System (i.e. land, ocean, and atmosphere), the interfaces between them (land-ocean, ocean-atmosphere and land-atmosphere) and a system-wide integration (Earth System modelling and palaeo-environmental research).

In addition to the Core Projects, IGBP also coordinates a number of Fast-Track Initiatives (FTIs), which are activities that address innovative and cross-cutting issues of current interest in Earth System science.
